For months West Brom were linked with a string of combative midfielders, despite the big thing missing from Tony Pulis’ side being goals.
That’s changed recently, and as transfer season hots up, West Brom are being linked with a string of strikers, some obvious and some not quite so obvious.
A couple of weeks ago the Argentine press linked West Brom with Lucas Alario of River Plate. Then Kelechi Iheanacho’s agent claimed West Brom were keen on his client.
It’s pretty clear West Brom are looking for a striker or two.
This week’s edition of German magazine SportBild adds Max Kruse to the list. West Brom are said to be one of a number of Premier League clubs keen on the Werder Bremen star.
Kruse, 29 years of age, rejoined Bremen during the last summer transfer window.
In his first season back at the club, Kruse scored 15 Bundesliga goals and added 7 assists. That’s even more impressive when it’s considered Kruse missed a chunk of games at the beginning of the season, and only made 23 league appearances.
There are some good names on West Brom’s wanted list, but they’re not going to find it easy.
