Since Ronald Koeman moved from Southampton to Everton last summer, the two clubs have repeatedly been linked with the same players. It happened when Mauricio Pochettino left Southampton for Tottenham, taking some recruiting staff with him, and similar has followed with Koeman’s move to Goodison Park.

The latest player with the honour of being linked with both clubs is Max Kruse, with Everton and Southampton said to be among a number of Premier League sides to have Kruse on their wanted list.

Limited to 23 Bundesliga appearances last season, due to an injury at the beginning of the campaign, Kruse found the back of the net 15 times, and it’s natural such a scoring record would attract interest.

Kruse has moved clubs 5 times in his career, but never outside Germany. It could be that the player is attracted by a possible last chance to test himself in the Premier League, or perhaps the transfer rumours are to encourage Werder Bremen to offer a lucrative renewal.

SportBild report the Everton and Southampton interest, but they don’t suggest an offer is on the way, or talks taking place, just that both clubs have him on their shopping list.
