Japhet Tanganga has only had around 600 minutes of Premier League action so far this season, but he’s been handed further appearances in the UEFA Conference League, FA Cup and EFL Cup.

The defender played the full match against Morecambe at the weekend, as Antonio Conte’s side survived a scare and won the FA Cup tie 3-1.

He also played the full EFL Cup match against Chelsea on January 5th, and the all 90 minutes in the Premier League against Crystal Palace on Boxing Day, so he’s clearly someone Conte sees a use for.

Despite that, there are claims from Italy of a potential transfer.

Calciomercato report AC Milan’s Frederic Massara and Paolo Maldini held talks with the player’s representatives about two weeks ago. They’re looking for a ‘loan with a right of redemption’, presumably in the summer, but it’s said Spurs would prefer a permanent transfer now.

Tottenham are said to want €25m, and that’s a figure AC Milan, currently second in Serie A, feel is too high. Therefore, the situation is one which it’s thought could come to life at the end of the window.

Juventus are also keen, and they could use Dejan Kulusevski in the deal, however, they’d want a transfer which saw Tanganga plus €20m move in exchange for the Sweden international.
