On the one hand, many Celtic fans would dearly love to see Lionel Messi at Celtic Park on Wednesday, he’s one of the greatest players of all time and it would be a shame if he missed out.
On the other hand, Barcelona arriving at Celtic Park without Messi would be a boost for Brendan Rodgers on the pitch. Barcelona are a great team without Messi, but they often seem to miss him when he’s out, and drew 0-0 with Malaga at the weekend.
The updates are that Messi slept well on Saturday night, and there’s hope he’s going to be available to torment Bredan Rodgers once again. He turned up to training on Monday morning, and Barcelona will conduct some tests to see if he’s fine to train with the group.
Barcelona were hugely disappointed by the weekend draw, but Mundo explain there’s ‘no time to mourn’ and now total concentration is on Celtic. Messi’s fitness is the big story ahead of the match, but as it stands, and given he’s arrived at training today, it’s looking good for a Celtic Park appearance.
