Paraguayan outlet Cronica are today quite happy to bring the first news from their new correspondent Christian Martin.
The journalist is well known in Latin American countries for reporting from England, so now that he’s working for a Paraguayan website, it was time to speak about Miguel Almiron’s situation at Newcastle United.
He was first talking about the striker’s possibilities of changing clubs in the near future, and even though there seems to be nothing concrete for his future, the journalist didn’t want to rule it out.
“The possibility is always there because Newcastle have controversial owners and they never want to spend,” Christian Martin told Cronica.
“Newcastle should have passed to the hands of a Saudi Arabian investment group, but in the end that didn’t happen.”
Regarding the failure of Steve Bruce to get the team into impressive form, Martin said: “A pity, really. Steve Bruce is a man of the house, an English coach. Now English coaches with an open mind are scarce, and I understand that he is.”
Still, insisting on the transfer issue, Martin ended up admitting it’s unlikely Almiron would leave the club before the end of the season.
“The prognosis is now reserved, I think it’s all aimed at saving Newcastle from relegation, let’s see if Steve survives this, I think Steve is more out than Almiron.”
Newcastle United are currently 15th in the Premier League, with no big help from Miguel Almiron so far, as the Paraguayan international only has one goal and one assist this season.
