Christian Eriksen is seeing his perception in Denmark improve since the country changed national team managers, and the tactics changed a little to suit him better.
However, Eriksen is still a little frustrated with criticism of his displays for the national team, and feels it’s unfair. Some supporters still believe Eriksen puts in better performances for Tottenham than he does for Denmark, but the player himself has insisted it’s just not that simple.
The Spurs star has been quoted by Tipsbladet as saying: “At first it was annoying to listen to, but yo can see it’s not right.
“There is not much difference in my performance for Denmark and the club, thankfully. It’s probably more people who didn’t see the match, but reading about one, and have high expectations.
“It has been different to play for Tottenham, where there has been a different system and some other players. It should not be an excuse, and it seems never to be, but it’s just different.
“The players who are on the team… It’s just something else in Tottenham, where squad players even play in a large national team, there’s some great players, it gives it a little more.
“Denmark has many good players, but I do not think we could beat Tottenham with the team.”
Denmark versus Tottenham may well be a one-sided prospect at the moment, but thankfully it will never happen… just imagine the fuss over who Eriksen would play for.
