Rafa Mir made his Spain U21 debut last week against Albania. Coming on as a substitute in the second half, the Wolves owned player managed to get himself a goal and also put in a good all round performance.
There was plenty of praise for Mir in his home country, and it was seen as a signal of strength for Spain’s future that such a good player could come off the bench and have an impact.
Spending this season loan at Las Palmas, there was a danger the striker could slip out of the consciousness somewhat, with the Canary Island team being in the second division.
Marca state the player spoke with a smile on his face as he said: “I am very happy to have this opportunity, being in the national team is the greatest thing that can happen to a player and we have to keep working.”
Wolves’ investment isn’t looking too bad right now.
