While Wolverhampton Wanderers continue to be linked to Atlético Madrid defender Felipe, there’s a third club watching that situation, according to reports from Brazil.

It’s well known by now that Wolves are interested in the defender, as recent stories in the Spanish media claimed he asked to leave the La Liga side.

It turns out that according to Fala Galo, Brazilian club Atlético Mineiro are now monitoring the scenario between Felipe and Wolves.

It’s claimed the talks between club and player ‘continue with no advances’, and in case that collapses, then Atlético Mineiro should try a shot for the signing.

Felipe has been of little use to Atlético Madrid boss Diego Simeone this season, as he only has three appearances made, and indeed looks close to the exit door at the club.

His contract with the Colchoneros expires at the end of the season, and that’s what makes his departure so likely.

Now even though Wolves can certainly offer him a more attractive option of featuring in the Premier League, Atlético Mineiro seem hopeful that the talks collapse and they can bring the defender back to his home country.
