Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traoré has hailed the club’s staff following the win over Manchester City on Sunday.

Wolves stunned the reigning champions at Molyneux on Sunday afternoon, with two goals from Traoré securing all three points.

It was a surprise result for Wolves, who have endured a difficult start to the campaign as they’ve tried to adapt the demands of playing two games in a week, having qualified for the Europa League this season.

Recent weeks have seen them turn things around and Traoré did not hesitate to praise the club’s technical staff for making that happen.

“I am very happy with the great work the team did,” he told El Periódico.

“The technical staff deserve merit, too, particularly Nuno. We are working very hard after starting a different stage playing weekdays in the Europa League.

“How the staff has adapted in this new situation is amazing, and I am very happy. Everything we work on was reflected within the field.”

The two goals were a particular surprise for Traoré, particularly given that he had managed just one goal in his previous 49 games for the club.

The forward is enjoying a rich vein of form for Wolves, with this season, and the tail end of last year, seeing Espirito Santo Espírito Santo deploy the former Barcelona man as a right-wing back.

His latest star performance has some hoping this could be the year he finally realises his potential, but for him, it’s all about growing as much as possible.

“The important thing is that I am growing and being better,” he added.

“If I am the same yesterday for me it is a lost day. This is how I see things.

“I have worked very intensely with Mr Nuno and all the technical staff to improve both defensively and offensively and to be able to play in different positions.

“If I can adapt to exploit my quality in different parts of the field, this will make me a better player. I hope to grow up.”
