Over the past few months, Wolverhampton Wanderers have been named as serious contenders to sign Rodrigo Gomes from SC Braga.
There was a point when it was claimed the English club placed a €5m bid for his signing, and now it seems that got nowhere near to being accepted.
Newspaper Jornal de Notícias today features a story about Gomes’ future, claiming he should be sold this summer, as there’s a little battle emerging to get him.
The reason for that is that English clubs have been showing interest in Gomes, and there’s now a wait for them to arrive with offers worth over €15m.
This time, Jornal de Notícias doesn’t mention Wolves as the Premier League club who want the youngster, even though the Molineux side were the only English club linked, as his agent confirmed contact.
Gomes has just had a loan spell at Estoril, where he had nine goals and eight assists in 36 appearances, and Braga are ready to benefit from that with a good sale.
