West Ham should be able to say goodbye to Simone Zaza soon enough, with Valencia regional newspaper Super Deporte saying the transfer is getting ‘closer and closer’ and the potential deal is now ‘well advanced’.

Valencia are looking for someone to save their season and for reasons known only to the Spanish club, they’ve picked West Ham’s Zaza. Super Deporte concede that not only has Zaza disappointed under Slaven Bilic at West Ham, but they reckon he also somewhat failed at Juventus.

The Turin club are keen to let the player go permanently, but West Ham clearly haven’t wanted to play Zaza in enough games to make the €20m clause happen. Valencia don’t want a mandatory clause, and instead want to see how the player performs, but it’s stated that any fee put into a loan will only be a negotiating point.

Valencia would expect to pay Juventus less than the €18m they paid Sassuolo for the player, and only if Zaza impresses.
