Heading towards Christmas in a position few could have imagined at the start of the season, West Ham are on cloud nine under David Moyes.
The Scottish manager has turned the club around magnificently, as the Hammers currently sit third in the Premier League, tied with Manchester City and one point behind leaders Chelsea.
Their recent 3-2 success over Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool was a testament to the hard work put in by all involved, and a great start to their Europa League campaign is the cherry on top for Moyes and co.
However, all this means a long second half of the season, especially if they see off Tottenham in the EFL Cup quarter-final, and some reinforcements in January would go a long way to help with squad rotation during a busy schedule.
While a new striker is probably top of their list, West Ham are also looking at midfielders, with Juventus’ Weston McKennie a reported target.
Calciomercato.it are the ones pushing the interest on Wednesday, claiming the Hammers aren’t ‘scared’ about the €30-35m asking price for the USA international.
In fact, they learnt about this after ‘asking for information’ about him, clearly showing both the player and Juventus they are keen on a move if possible.
We’ll have to wait and see whether a move to London Stadium tickles McKennie’s fancy, but it could be a good option should the Serie A side decide to cash in.
