West Ham United are reportedly one of the clubs in the race for Almeria midfielder Samu Costa.

The Hammers’ interest in the player is revealed by El Chiringuito journalist Diego Plaza Casals, who brings some information on the 22-year-old’s future.

It’s first highlighted that Samu Costa is wanted by Valencia and another club from La Liga. Then it’s said West Ham, Lyon and an Italian club have also ‘asked’ about him.

There are no further details on how this race has been going, or how much Almeria are set to demand for the midfielder’s transfer.

Samu Costa joined the La Liga side in the summer of 2020. He was initially signed on a loan deal from Braga, and the transfer ended up becoming permanent the following summer, for a fee of €5.25m.

That means he’s still protected by a contract until 2026, but by having Gestifute managing his career, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him making a big move. With Valencia having a great relationship with Jorge Mendes, perhaps that would put them ahead of West Ham in the race.
