It’s probably fair to say that Simone Zaza is more remembered by West Ham United fans for the transfer sagas he got involved in than because of his time with the Hammers.

While in London, the striker only made 11 appearances, with no goals and assists, and left to pursue his success somewhere else.

It turns out that Zaza has been without a club since 2022, and Tuttosport today features a story on this situation.

The outlet asks ‘where is’ the striker, claiming that the player got swallowed up in a ‘metaphorical black hole’ since his last appearances.

His time at West Ham is remembered, with the outlet laiming his loan there was a hope of cheering him up, and ended in a ‘mission failed’.

Tuttosport even wonders whether he will ever end up playing again, as he’s just 32.

Zaza joined West Ham on a loan deal in the summer of 2016, with the Hammers spending €5m on his loan from Juventus.

Since then, he also played for Valencia and Torino, but with no success. It was in the summer of 2022 that he left the Turin side and never signed a new contract.
