Bernardo Silva starred in Manchester City’s 4-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Etihad on Wednesday and the result helped the Citizens seal a berth in the Champions League final.

The attacking midfielder, who scored a brace against Los Blancos, has been linked to Paris Saint-Germain. Two days ago, L’Equipe reported he’s tired of his life in England and wants a move away from Manchester City in the summer.

After the clash against Real Madrid, the Manchester City star was interviewed by Canal +, relayed by RMC Sport, where he was asked about his future plans after this season.

“The plain is to end the season well, win the Premier League, try [to win] against United in the FA Cup final, and then Inter. Then, in the summer, we will see what will happen,” he said.

The Ligue 1 side, who failed to sign the 28-year-old in 2022, are still chasing him. L’Equipe journalist Loïc Tanzi claims he could have a better chance of leaving Manchester City in the summer, if the Portugal international asks Pep Guardiola to sanction his transfer.

“I think it’s doable if Manchester City open the door, which wasn’t the case last summer,” Tanzi told Chaine L’EQUIPE, relayed by Le10 Sport.

“Are they able to open the door? Yes, if Bernardo Silva goes to see Guardiola and tells him this time I can’t stay, which he didn’t do last year. Last year, he asked to leave but the leaders did not want him to leave and he accepted by staying for another year.

“There, if he really says: ‘Coach, I’ve been here for six years, I have to leave. I want to leave’, and that Guardiola opens the door for him for service rendered, I think there is a way. I think he can do it.”

In other words, Tanzi indicates Guardiola’s approval would be needed for Silva to get a move away from the Citizens.

Barcelona have also been chasing Silva for a while now but Tanzi states PSG have a better chance to secure his services, if he decides to leave Manchester City in the summer.

“For me, in favourite destinations, PSG is No.1. There was Barcelona last year except that maybe with the return of Messi and the recruitment that Barcelona want to do, it’s more complicated to put so much money on a player like that,” he said.

“How much does Silva cost today? He’s expensive but with his two-year contract, I would say between €50m and €70m, it depends on the negotiations and the bonuses… Bernardo Silva wanted to come last year.”
