Atalanta are working to secure the signing of Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna, and whilst there’s some confidence the Bergamo club can pull off the deal, there’s also a worry Tottenham could scupper it.

TMW report that Bologna are looking for €20m to agree a sale, and do not seem to be prepared to drop from that figure right now. That’s an issue for Atalanta, who want to pay a little less for the 22-year-old.

TMW have ‘watch out for Tottenham’ in their headline, and go on to explain there’s a possibility Spurs could soon present an offer for the Japan international. According to the claims, Tomiyasu is tempted by a move to the Premier League, so that would obviously help the London club should they make a concrete effort.

Fabio Paratici has good connections across Italian football and is likely aware of how the potential deal between Atalanta and Bologna stands.

Tomiyasu played 33 matches for Bologna last season. He appeared mainly as a central defender, but also had a chink of games at right-back.
