Tottenham Hotspur fullback Emerson Royal was interviewed by ESPN Brasil this week.

Since the conversation was given to Eduardo de Meneses’ show Além da Bola, it was a completely relaxed chat, with the player only telling a few funny stories of his career.

De Meneses mentioned that now at Tottenham, Emerson has a little group of teammates who he has a lot of fun with. Those are Lucas Moura, Richarlison and Heung-min Son, who’s said to be very close to the Brazilians.

So speaking of the compatriots, ESPN asked the 23-year-old about their style, as they’re constantly mocking each other for the clothes they wear.

Emerson Royal claimed he can’t stand Lucas and Richarlison leaving Tottenham’s training session wearing club clothes, as he’d like to see them better dressed, even though they’re apparently just driving home.

“I will tell you one thing. An unacceptable thing. Lucas Moura and Richarlison leave with their club clothes. That can’t happen. Adidas and Nike aren’t giving them clothes and they’re not short of money. Something is happening,” Emerson told ESPN Brasil.

“The guys shower and put on new club clothes to leave. Wait. Put on old ripped shorts and a ripped shirt, flip-flops, but don’t go out in club clothes, brother.

“Then they make fun of my style. I say ‘you are jealous because you don’t have the courage to wear the clothes I wear’. This is the point.”

As we said before, this is pure mockery between friends, so Emerson probably isn’t that mad that his teammates are using club clothes, as he’s just finding a reason to make jokes with them. Hopefully.
