The Portuguese press continues to know only one thing about Ivan Marco’s future: he’s not staying at Porto after the end of the season.
With his contract expiring this summer, the player has been linked to several European sides, and apparently hasn’t chosen a new club yet.
As reported by A Bola today, there are English, Italian and Spanish sides after him. They only name Valencia and Milan, although the only English club who have been linked to the defender is Everton.
A Bola claims that Valencia are offering Marcano a salary of €4m per season, something that Porto can’t even think of affording, but wouldn’t be an issue for Everton. The fact that the player would return to his home country is also an attractive for him.
Milan are said to be strong in the race as well, while regarding Everton, or any English club, the newspaper doesn’t have much to tell.
Truth is that despite being named in the race a few times, Everton were never reported to be in advanced negotiations with Marcano, as they have always been mentioned as one more ‘interested side’.
Now with the summer approaching, and him becoming a free agent, things shouldn’t take long to be sorted. So if the Toffees ever wanted him, it’s time to move.
