Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has spoken to Turkish TV channel TRTSpor about playing in England, following his move from Borussia Dortmund in 2016.
Haberler.Com have covered comments the Manchester City star made when asked who he thinks are the five best Premier League players: “For me, it’s a very tough question. There are lots of great players in this league. But if I want to pick 5 players, that would be Mesut Ozil, Emre Can, Leroy Sane and Ederson as a goalkeeper. Also I want to pick myself in this team too!”
Gundogan not naming his club teammate Keven de Bruyne will perhaps come as a surprise to Manchester City fans as the Belgian has arguably been the best player in the Premier League this season, along with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, but it seemed a lighthearted choice.
De Bruyne has been the driving force in Manchester City’a midfield in this campaign, and has been the club’s standout player.
Gundogan himself has also started to replicate the form he showed whilst at Borussia Dortmund, which convinced Manchester City to bring him to the Etihad stadium.
The German international has become a regular in Pep Guardiola’s side, and looks to be over his injury problems.
