Since the January transfer window, we’ve seen many reports claiming Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Franck Kessie from Barcelona.

Even today, Catalan outlet Sport had a short piece dubbing Spurs as ‘very interested’ in landing the midfielder, who’s said to be ‘transferable’ for the La Liga giants.

This is now followed up by a report involving Kessie’s situation at Barcelona via Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, who explain the Camp Nou side may have a good reason to sell the player to Tottenham.

The report says Barça are still heavily interested in Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat. Their chase dates back to the January window, and as they have ‘not let go’, the contacts are still on for his transfer.

That’s where Kessie comes in, with TuttoMercatoWeb saying he could ‘ask to be sold’ in the summer.

Therefore, Barça could take advantage of this deal and use the money to invest in Amrabat.

The truth is that with the report coming from Italy, they only name Serie A clubs who could take Kessie from Barcelona.

But Tottenham are being heavily linked to the player, and it wouldn’t be strange to see Antonio Conte’s side getting in this tussle to sign the Ivorian.
