Earlier today, we relayed news from Italy that Genoa star Radu Drăgușin favours a move to Tottenham Hotspur over Napoli.

Ange Postecoglou has requested the north London club to sign a new centre-back this month and the focus has been on the 21-year-old.

Corriere del Mezzogiorno now reiterate the Serie A winners are interested but Tottenham are ahead in the transfer race.

The newspaper states the Romania international and his entourage prefer Spurs and are willing to wait until next summer to seal a transfer. Despite this, the Naples club won’t give up until there’s an agreement between Tottenham, Genoa and the defender.

Il Mattino state Genoa haven’t reached an agreement with Tottenham for Drăgușin. Napoli are aware his preference is to make a switch to the Premier League but that doesn’t stop them from entering the battle.

Genoa have closed a deal for Napoli’s Alessandro Zanoli and prefer to sell the Romanian to Walter Mazzarri’s side, who are willing to offer money plus Leo Østigård. The report says it’s not easy for Napoli because the gap is ‘not trivial’.

Il Mattino’s claim is relayed by Sport Mediaset, who then give their short update.

It’s claimed Genoa have requested €35m which is why Tottenham have ‘slowed down a bit’ in their pursuit of Drăgușin.

Spurs have an advantage because the player favours a move to England but will have to find an agreement with Genoa to conclude the operation.
