It seems there’s something at Porto attracting a lot of interest from Tottenham Hotspur scouts lately.

After watching the Portuguese side several times this season, including in Friday’s clássico against Benfica, Spurs went back to Estádio do Dragão on Wednesday night.

As reported by newspaper O Jogo, Tottenham were among the clubs who watched Porto’s incredible performance against Monaco, in which they thrashed the French side 5-2.

During the summer, Spurs were much linked to Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira, who was returning from a loan at Nice. As the Portuguese side decided to keep him and see how he would do this season, the deal never got close to being done.

Ricardo has been great, just like another fullback, Alex Telles. They are both providing great balance on the wings, and are partially responsible for the club’s success this season. Alex scored a goal last night, while Ricardo provided an assist.

Now with Tottenham reportedly looking for fullbacks, these would certainly be a duo to be analysed by the club, especially with so many scoutings at Porto this season.

Telles, who would also make sense for Chelsea, already had his wish to play in England revealed by his agent when speaking to Sport Witness this year.

Ricardo Pereira wouldn’t be too hard to get either, since the player has a €25m release clause in his contract, which expires in 2019.

Striker Vincent Aboubakar, with two goals, and midfielder Danilo Pereira, with two assists, were other players who could’ve caught Tottenham’s attention last night.

For a rounded view, Portuguese newspaper rated Alex Telles’ performance as 8/10 and Ricardo Pereira as 7/10, whilst L’Equipe rated the former 7/10 and the latter 6/10. Those are all good marks, with the French newspaper especially known for being harsh.
