On October 25th, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg said Manchester United are keen on signing Alphonso Davies. He also reported the Red Devils have gathered extensive information about the Bayern Munich star in recent months.
The Canada international’s contract expires in 2025. Recent claims had stated Real Madrid have a deal in place for him join them for free next summer. This was dismissed by his agent, Nedal Huoseh, who also stated there are other options for the left-back.
AS relay his quotes and state the 24-year-old is keeping all options open, including the La Liga side and Manchester United.
Los Blancos have already transferred their offer to his agent and won’t enter into a battle with other clubs.
Ferland Mendy is the first-choice left-back under Carlo Ancelotti. Therefore, strengthening that position isn’t a priority, but Real Madrid are showing interest in Davies because of his contract situation.
Bild recently reported Bayern have offered the fullback a new deal worth €12m per year.
Huoseh said there are other clubs in the mix for the player. According to AS, it’s ‘mainly Manchester United’, who are ‘bidding hard’ for Davies.
The agent is trying to ‘make the most of the situation’, meaning he’s at work to get the best possible deal for his client.
With Real Madrid refusing to do anything crazy to sign Davies, Manchester United may have a chance to secure his services.
