Last weekend, O Jogo explained Tottenham Hotspur scouts have been following Sporting’s Pedro Porro.

Antonio Conte has Matt Doherty, Emerson Royal and Djed Spence at his disposal for the right wing-back position.

Spence has not been relied upon by Conte, while the former two have not convinced the Italian. Therefore, Porro has emerged as objective for Tottenham in January, as per AS.

It’s claimed ‘there are open talks’ for the Spain international, but the negotiations won’t be easy for the north London club.

The ex-Girona man’s contract lasts until 2025 and includes a €45m release clause. Spurs, for their part, are willing to pay a fee between €25m and €30m to try to take the wing-back.

The winter market would not be the right time for the Eagles to let go of Porro considering he is vital for Rúben Amorim, they are in the Europa League and in contention to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Conte’s side, on the other hand, would like to sign the player in the upcoming window and are considering offering €25-30m. Despite Sporting’s desire to retain him, Tottenham ‘still want to play their cards’ to try to snatch Porro.

The Spaniard has a goal and nine assists this term and should he continue to impress for Sporting, he is likely to be on the agenda of more clubs next summer.
