Tottenham are ‘on the verge’ of signing Nottingham Forest Brennan Johnson, with the deal expected to be completed in the next few hours.
That’s according to journalist Rudy Galetti, who says Tottenham and Nottingham Forest are negotiating a £40m deal for the winger.
Reports throughout England have linked Tottenham with a deadline day move for Johnson, who was one of Nottingham Forest’s key players in their return to the Premier League and successful avoidance of relegation last season.
Tottenham are now keen, though, as they continue their rebuild under Ange Postecoglou and spend some of the money brought in from the sale of Harry Kane.
Galetti reports that they are now ‘on the verge’ of completing a deal for Johnson and are now negotiating the final details of a £40m transfer with Nottingham Forest.
That is expected to go through ‘in the next few hours’ and Johnson is keen to see it happen, with the journalist adding that he is ‘ready for the move’.
However, the amount seems on the low side. Nottingham Forest have been open to selling the player but the reported asking price was higher than £40m, so it remains to be seen whether Galetti is correct or if he’s jumping the gun.
