Tottenham Hotspur have received a potential boost ahead of their Champions League match against AC Milan this week.

As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport, Rossoneri striker Olivier Giroud did not train on Monday ‘due to a flu attack’.

The player is therefore in doubt for the match against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham, which is taking place in London on Wednesday evening.

Gazzetta writes that Milan still ‘hope’ that Giroud will make a quick recovery and join the training session on Tuesday morning.

It’s said the striker started feeling sick on Sunday and didn’t even show up at the training centre on Monday. Despite his improvement, there’s no guarantee he’ll train prior to the match.

But his presence in Tuesday’s session isn’t what will define his appearance against Tottenham. Gazzetta claim that manager Stefano Pioli could take Giroud to England anyway, and evaluate him just before the match. That’s how much they’d like to have him on the pitch.

In case the Frenchman isn’t ready for Spurs, then Ante Rebic, Divock Origi and Charles De Ketelare are the options to take his place in the Rossoneri’s attack.
