Dani Ceballos is a name you’re likely to hear a lot this summer, if you haven’t already. The Spanish midfielder is hot property and there’s plenty of interest in him.
Indeed, after his performances for Spain at the U21 Euros, there appears to be something of a queue for his signature and Tottenham are currently in first place.
Spurs want Ceballos to bolster their midfield, with Mauricio Pochettino thought to be pushing hard for his signature. Madrid are happy to let him go and they’re even trying to use him as a makeweight to take Christian Eriksen to the Bernabeu.
Ceballos, for his part, is keen to leave the Bernabeu as he wants more game time, although he would prefer a loan deal as he still thinks he has a future at the club.
And that move would be a smart one on the face of it, particularly if it saw Ceballos heading there on loan.
Ceballos would be joining a club where he’d be guaranteed playing time and who play a good brand of football. Betis, also get a ready-made replacement for Giovani Lo Celso.
That opens up Lo Celso to complete his move to Tottenham, assuming they pay up Betis’ asking price for the Argentine.
Madrid, meanwhile, keep Ceballos happy in the short-term and don’t lose him for the future either.
Indeed, Deportivo report that they view the Betis option as the best one available, suggesting this is one they’ll explore.
