On October 26th, Star Gazetesi reported Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson is the ‘first target’ for Tottenham Hotspur in January.
Earlier this month, the same outlet suggested Spurs could get the defender on a cheap deal as the Turkish club want to get rid of him.
Takvim now state the 25-year-old is on the radar of a few clubs, including Tottenham, and provides an update on Galatasaray’s plans for him.
The centre-back hasn’t had regular game time in recent weeks and his agent has informed the Galatasaray management, led by president Dursun Özbek, about Nelsson’s ‘desire to leave’ in the winter market.
It’s said the Turkish champions don’t want to get less than €20-25m and their idea is to send him on loan to the top five European leagues in January, with the hope that he could improve his valuation.
When discussing interested parties, Tottenham are named, along with Sevilla, Atalanta and Borussia Dortmund.
Ange Postecoglou’s side could have an advantage over other European clubs, if Tipsbladet are to be believed.
The Denmark international has parted ways with his agent, Ivan Marko Benes, and this was confirmed by the latter to Tispbladet. They further add Nelsson has now tasked Elite Project Group to take care of his future.
Nelsson is ‘aiming for a January move’ and has a dream of playing in the Premier League.
Therefore, he has signed with the London based agency, who have a strong hold in the English market. Their client list includes Bukayo Saka, Jadon Sancho and Eddie Nketiah.
With the Dane aiming to move to England and Galatasaray aiming to sanction a loan deal, Tottenham could be in line for a favourable deal in January.
