At this point, the amount of reports claiming that Tottenham are interested in signing Albert Gudmundsson this summer suggests they are very serious about a deal.

We’ve seen a huge number of claims over the past few months, and each point towards Spurs making a move at some point in the near future.

In fact, Quotidiano Sportivo provide some sort of potential time frame for Tottenham’s moves on Friday, as they cover the situation of a number of players.

The Iceland international is one of them, and it’s made clear the London side are following his terrific season with Genoa ‘with great interest’.

Not only that, but the belief is talks and a negotiation could start ‘in the next few weeks’ in a similar fashion to the one put together in January for Radu Dragusin, which ultimately ended in Tottenham signing the player.

It’s explained that the Italian market has become ‘more and more attractive’ to English clubs, as they know a lot of players have had a successful time adapting to the Premier League, with Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur two examples at Spurs to prove that.

Add Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero to that list and you can see why going after someone like Gudmundsson would make sense.
