Tottenham Hotspur signing Lucas Bergvall picked up a knock while in action with Sweden’s U21 last month, but there are no injury concerns as of now. On Monday, he found the back of the net in Djurgårdens IF Fotboll’s 4-1 win over IFK Göteborg.

Back in February, Spurs confirmed that an agreement has been reached with the Swedish club for the 18-year-old to arrive in the summer.

After Monday’s tie, the incoming Tottenham player provided a positive update on his future.

“No, there was no doubt. I’ve had some problems from time to time after the blow, being a little swollen and sore. But they have solved it well,” he said, relayed by Aftonbladet.

Fotbollskanalen have also relayed the midfielder’s quotes and he wasn’t pleased with some of the tackles made by the Göteborg players. The 18-year-old has even stated he wanted to avoid picking up an injury.

“There are many ugly tackles and many that are on the borderline. You have to learn not to go into every duel 100%. But that’s football, it’s tough, but it was definitely on the edge,” Bergvall explained.

When asked how he feels about it, considering he’ll be moving to Spurs in the summer, the youngster explained: “Of course it’s a football match and there will be tackles. But it’s on the verge of getting an injury and staying out. So, it’s not fun.”

The Sweden international has started this year on a brighter note, managing three goals and four assists from five games for Djurgårdens.

Amid his move to Tottenham in the summer, Bergvall’s focus is on Djurgårdens, especially on the Swedish Cup final against Malmö FF.

“ We have worked well on it. Then it will come when it comes. Now it’s Djurgården at 100% and to try to help the team to a good autumn season,” Aftonbladet quoted him as saying.
