During the summer transfer window, Tottenham were repeatedly linked with a move for AC Milan’s Suso.
There was a claim Tottenham had offered €20m for the player, something which didn’t seem quite enough at the time.
As the window grew older, the claims simply continued and it was explained on more than one occasion that Tottenham interest was serious and they weren’t going away.
Suso is said to have a clause of €50m and this is stated as ‘not an insurmountable obstacle’ for Mauricio Pochettino’s club.
The Spaniard extended his Milan contract in September, which gives the club some strength to stick to that €50m clause if clubs come calling.
From Tottenham’s perspective it may be considered there are better alternatives available if the club want to go to such a figure in the next transfer window.
