Clearly unwanted at Tottenham, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is once again having to make a decision over whether to stay at Spurs and fight for a losing battle for a place, or go out on loan somewhere like he did at Burnley during the second half of last season.
Thursday saw reports emerge that Mauricio Pochettino’s side had agreed terms with Mainz over the forward’s loan, but L’Equipe on Friday state the player has yet to make up his mind over the move.
This is said to have given a bit of hope to Saint-Etienne, who have also been reported as interested, and they remain an option for the player.
The Ligue 1 side aren’t particularly desperate to sign him, having already recruited their top target Rémy Cabella from Marseille, but they are ‘open’ to another offensive reinforcement should the opportunity arise.
It remains to be seen whether they make a move, but they still have two weeks to sort something out should Nkoudou decide a temporary spell to Germany isn’t right for him.
