Adrien Silva’s departure from Sporting seems to be edging closer, even though his destination is still to be clear. As reported by Record today, club president Bruno de Carvalho is managing the sale in a deal which could bring €35m to the Portuguese side.

The local media insists that it’s Tottenham Hotspur who are the most likely club to take the captain, even though we have our doubts regarding the start of this rumour.

Silva has an old dream of playing in the Premier League, and saw a move collapse last summer when Sporting rejected a bid from Leicester City. Therefore, he’d snatch the chance to sign for Tottenham.

The midfielder has just travelled to Russia for the Confederations Cup, but is said to be in constant contact with his agents to stay aware of the situation.

Record claims that Tottenham’s offer could be made official in the ‘coming hours’, since the 28-year-old has become a ‘priority target’ for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
