Tottenham Hotspur’s quest for a new manager is obviously not a simple subject, since the London side have plenty of options to think about.
Now as website CalcioMercato.it features a story on this chase today, the outlet manages to have an update on two coaches who could be taking the position at Spurs this summer.
Unsurprisingly, both of them are Italian.
The report starts with Maurizio Sarri, who’d been the favourite option at AS Roma until José Mourinho was announced yesterday. Tottenham are said to be in talks for the 62-year-old, and a meeting with his representative Fali Ramadami is set to happen ‘in the coming hours’.
Calcio Mercato says the former Chelsea boss isn’t a priority for Tottenham, so they shall keep this option ‘on the table’.
Calcio Mercato then mentions the other alternative for Spurs. That’s Gian Piero Gasperini, who’s currently managing Atalanta. The story says intermediaries have been working to ‘understand the viability of the operation’.
There are, however, two issues with that alternative. First is the lack of the coach’s expertise in the English language. Besides that, Spurs are said to be more focused on getting a young manager.
An earlier report from the Bergamo media insisted Gasperini has no intention of moving to Tottenham.
