Tottenham Hotspur loanee Harry Winks continues to be sidelined at Sampdoria.
Despite making a loan move to the Serie A side back in August, the midfielder has been struggling with injuries and is still to make his debut for the club.
Today, Sampdoria released the full squad for the cup clash against Ascoli, and speaking of the Tottenham player, they referred to him as ‘unavailable’.
The problem is the club already have played 11 games this season, and Winks hasn’t been ready for any of them.
The 26-year-old’s situation starts looking strange, because it was back in September that club president Marco Lanna said the player was getting back to the squad and would soon be available to play.
Winks is loaned to Sampdoria until the end of the season, and when returning to Tottenham, he’ll have one year left in his contract, which runs until 2024.
The loan at the Serie A side even includes a buying option, but judging by how things have been going, that’s starting to look unlikely.
Earlier this month, we’ve already seen the local media talking about the potential ‘disappointment‘ with his move.
