It looks like Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Bruno Fernandes from Sporting is about to become a thing in the Portuguese press.
Earlier today, we had already covered a story from A Bola about this. Despite having Spurs in the headline, they didn’t add much to the story, actually claiming that it’s Manchester United who lead the race for the midfielder.
But it turns out that newspaper Record also reports the chase today. And even though there aren’t many details about it, they bring a good reason for Tottenham fans to believe that a move is possible.
Record recalls that Bruno Fernandes has been saying he has no preference of where to play in the Premier League. He’s not only concerned about money, as he wants to join a project which helps his evolution.
That’s why Record doesn’t believe that Tottenham would be behind the three other Premier League clubs in the race, which would be Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.
The outlet claims that Sporting are ready to sell the midfielder this summer, but all the offers of less than €70m will be rejected by the Lisbon side.
Newspaper Correio da Manhã brings a story today claiming that it’s Jorge Mendes who’s working on the player’s transfer, even though he’s not his agent. So Spurs better have his number.
