Loaned by Manchester City at the start of the season, fullback Issa Kabore is having a fairly good spell at Marseille.

With 18 appearances for the Ligue 1 side so far, the youngster is proving to be an useful player for the French club, who have a buying option over him at the end of the season.

Kabore’s time at Marseille was now praised by club manager Igor Tudor, and in a press conference, the coach claimed the Manchester City loanee has been giving a good contribution to the team.

“He really is a great boy, who is humble, who wants to progress. He’s a top athlete physically. Even though there’s competition in his position, I know he is ready when I need him,” said Igor Tudor (via Coeur Marseillais).

Kabore joined Manchester City on a €4.5m transfer from Belgian side KV Mechelen in the summer of 2020.

Back then, he was loaned back to the club, then also had a spell at Troyes, until being sent to Marseille last summer.

That means he was never given the chance for Pep Guardiola’s side, and that’s why it wouldn’t be weird to see him leaving on a permanent transfer soon.

Last year, when he moved to Marseille, local reports claimed the buying option was of something around €20m.
