Newcastle United are now added to the race for Vasco da Gama winger Eguinaldo.
It was at the start of this week that we began seeing the youngster’s name in the rumour mill. That happened because West Ham United were first said to be interested in him.
The player’s agent, however, told Canal do Pedrosa there’s no specific chase from the Hammers for Eguinaldo. When asked about Newcastle, the answer was different.
The YouTube channel were told that the Magpies are watching the winger, just like many other clubs who’ve been following his potential. Still, it’s highlighted that these are initial observations, with no talks for a transfer at the moment.
“I also asked about Newcastle’s interest in the attacker. What he told me there is an observation, yes, from Newcastle, over Eguinaldo. But there is also the observation of several other clubs. These are very embryonic things, very early, and they are not even considered negotiations or anything very official.”
Eguinaldo is only 18-years-of-age and has just started his professional career. Playing in Serie B this season, he has three goals in 17 games.
The youngster isn’t the only Vasco player who Newcastle have recently been linked to, as we’ve seen many stories claiming the Magpies have also been interested in his teammate Andrey Santos, who’s shown more and should certainly be a more expensive target.
