Sunderland’s Jewison Bennette is edging closer towards completing a move to FC LNZ Cherkasy.
Earlier this week, we covered claims from Ukraine that LNZ Cherkasy will offer €500,000 including bonuses to the Black Cats to acquire his signature.
On Friday, Costa Rican journalist Kevin Jiménez stated the Sunderland player is one step away from joining the Ukrainian club.
TD Más from Costa Rica took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide the latest on the 20-year-old’s impending Sunderland exit.
They state the winger has already signed a three-year contract with LNZ Cherkasy thanks to C&H Sports Agency’s agents, Adolfo Hernández and Aquiles Certad. The report states the Ukrainian club will present him as their new player on Saturday.
TD Más have also shared pictures of the Sunderland player along with the two agents.
Meanwhile, Adolfo Hernández has confirmed the attacker’s impending transfer to Ukraine and La Teja have relayed his comments.
“Jewi begins a new challenge in Europe, in a club with great ambitions and a solid sports project. We appreciate the trust of all the parties involved in this operation and we are sure that Jewison will continue to demonstrate his talent and growth in this new stage,” he said.
“Much success, Jewi! We continue working to open more opportunities for our players in international football.”
LNZ Cherkasy can carry out signings because the winter market in Ukraine is open until March 11th.
Régis Le Bris handed Bennette only one appearance this season. He struggled for regular minutes since joining Sunderland in August 2022 and a move away from the Stadium of Light can help him enjoy regular minutes.
