Defender Alexander Milosevic is currently at Portsmouth to undergo a medical and potentially join on a free transfer.
That’s according to Aftonbladet, who report that Portsmouth plan to present the 33-year-old as their new signing shortly if things go to plan.
They explain that despite the transfer window being long closed, clubs in England can get an exemption to sign a player if they have a special reason for doing so.
Portsmouth are currently in the middle of an injury crisis, particularly at centre-back, with Rob Atkinson and Conor Shaughnessy both out injured and not expected to return until after the international break.
They may be eligible for the special dispensation and have targeted Milosevic, who is available on a free transfer after leaving AIK at the beginning of January.
The veteran has previously played in England with Nottingham Forest, making 12 appearances in the Championship in the 2018/19 season.
He’s been in the Allsvenskan since 2021 but is available on a free and Portsmouth have now made their move, with him currently at the club undergoing a medical ahead of potentially signing to ease their defensive woes.
