Following Ben Chilwell’s injury, Chelsea have been linked with adding multiple left-backs to the squad, and worked for the return of loanees John Kenedy and Emerson Palmieri.

Only the first could move to London, as the Blues used a clause in their deal with Flamengo, while Lyon did not accept losing the other in the middle of the season.

Now according to new reports from France, Chelsea had a chance to sign another left-back and turned down the opportunity. That’s Layvin Kurzawa from Paris Saint Germain, who’s an object of desire for West Ham.

Foot Mercato says agent Mikael Silvestre has been offering the player around, and despite the current situation, Blues manager Thomas Tuchel said he does not want him.

Regarding West Ham, Foot Mercato claims the club are still in the race for the signing, but ‘not necessarily on top of the list’. They add it won’t be easy for his agent to move him to the Premier League.

Silvestre is now set for talks in Italy, where the likes of Lazio, Inter Milan and Napoli are all interested in the 29-year-old. Kurzawa has not been playing for PSG and should have his exit made easy by the French side.
