Someone in Spain is making a big effort of pushing Vicente Iborra rumours.

The player has been linked with a return to La Liga pretty much since he arrived at Leicester City, but over the past week things have been bigger.

A potential return to Sevilla is getting coverage far and wide in the Spanish sport media, and it genuinely feels like someone is filtering information through to keep the story alive as long as possible.

Tuesday’s edition of Marca has a relatively big article on the potential transfer. It’s stated Sevilla have contacted the midfielder to discuss a move, something which the same newspaper reported on Monday.

Today, the Spanish newspaper seem to be trying to reignite a love story: ‘Vicente Iborra left Sanchez-Pizjuán bathed in tears. It was his farewell to the second club of his life – after his beloved Levante – the one that had put him in the international showcase and in which he had lifted three Europa Leagues in one of the most golden times of the Andalusian club. He never closed the door on his return and both parties seem destined to meet again. In summer there was a shy attempt. Now, due to the injury of Gonalons, Sevilla has knocked on his door again.’

Maxime Gonalons had an operation on Sunday and is facing three months out.

Apart from the love story, what’s new today from Marca is it’s insisted Iborra would be ‘happy’ with the move: ‘The captain would return to his home.’

More detail on the contact is given, with it being stated there was a telephone call on Friday from Sevilla to Iborra’s agent. That gives a pretty good hint on where the information is coming from.

Several other Spanish outlets are also carrying claims of a potential Sevilla transfer for the Leicester player.
