Chelsea and Liverpool continue to be named as two potential suitors to sign Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina.

As Italian outlet Calcio Mercato features a fresh story on the player, they highlight how La Viola have been resisting the Premier League’s interest in him.

Gonzalez has just agreed to a new contract with Fiorentina, now committed to the club until 2028, but is still said to be ‘popular’ among English clubs.

Chelsea and Liverpool are named as sides who’ve sent scouts to watch the player ‘on several occasions’.

Fiorentina turned down a €43m bid from Brentford last summer, and it’s now said they want between €55m and €60m to let him go.

‘The suitors are warned’, says Calcio Mercato, always making it clear La Viola will put up a fight to keep Gonzalez after the recent renewal.

Gonzalez has seven goals and two assists in 11 games for Fiorentina this season, besides establishing himself as a starter in Argentina’s national team. So it should be no surprise if Chelsea and Liverpool soon make an actual move for his signing.
