If there’s one man out there who might not be especially thrilled at Everton’s signing of Theo Walcott, it’s Aaron Lennon.
The 30-year-old, who joined the Toffees back in 2015 from Tottenham, has enjoyed a decent run of games of late, starting sporadically under Sam Allardyce, yet Corriere dello Sport on Thursday hint the Merseyside club could be looking to offload him in the near future.
According to the Italian newspaper, Lennon was one of two players (André Schürrle being the other one) offered to Inter recently as they continue to be linked with Barcelona’s Rafinha.
The only issue with all this is that Corriere state the player currently plays for Tottenham, but we’ll be overlooking that error, since no one is perfect.
Bottom line is, if that’s true, then Walcott with Everton is merely Sam Allardyce pressing the “Upgrade” button for his side.
Either that, or Lennon’s agent isn’t 100% happy with the Toffees’ most recent purchase and is testing the waters around Europe for a potential escape route.
