Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and Paris Saint-Germain’s world record signing Neymar are now linked with moves away from their respective clubs in the summer transfer window.

The Brazil international left Barcelona and joined PSG for a world record €222m in 2017. According to Mundo Deportivo, Neymar wants to leave the Ligue 1 outfit and join the Champions League winners.

Neymar is currently with Brazil at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Mundo Deportivo claims the forward’s father is staying at the same hotel as the Seleção, which gives him an advantage to negotiate with the player.

The former Santos star has “not changed his mind” as he wants to “play for Real Madrid”. His father would continue negotiations so that Neymar can fulfil his dream of playing for the Spanish capital club.

Madrid president Florentino Pérez is aware that Ronaldo is unwilling to sign a new deal with his current employers, as per the report. The Portuguese international has “asked to leave” the club and wants to join PSG.

Ronaldo is confident his abilities that he can help PSG win the top European competition. Perez has already prepared a plan called “post Cristiano” in which Madrid will look to find a replacement for the former Manchester United star.

Neymar has been identified as a target, but Perez doesn’t think the PSG forward is close to the level of Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. However, the Madrid chief believes the Brazilian will be the next big star of the decade.

Neymar, on the other hand, wants to be the best player in the world. He feels the only way to achieve it is by playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Both the players are currently with their national team in Russia. If the reports are true, any possibility of the transfer will only take shape after the World Cup.

Mundo Deportivo is a Catalan newspaper so them talking up the idea of Ronaldo leaving Real Madrid is a habit they won’t shake.
