Another day and more Victor Lindelof claims from Portugal. Yes, it’s Christmas Eve, yes Sport Witness is eyeing the wine and mince pies, but there’s further claims from O Jogo.
Lindelof is awaiting an ‘order’ and will then travel to England to have his medical and sign all the paperwork to become a Manchester United player, receiving a five and a half year contract and a wage of €3.5m per year after tax.
Benfica will receive €45m in total from Manchester United, €40m straight and a further €5m dependent upon bonuses.
It all sounds so easy doesn’t it.
If the transfer is to go through, it’s likely Lindelof will be able to enjoy Christmas in peace first, with completion being just before or just after the January transfer window opens.
Of course, we’ve been here before with Nico Gaitan, but maybe there’s a different feeling about this one.
