A perfect scenario for Manchester City fans over the next week may go something like this: Pep Guardiola makes a successful move for Toni Kroos, which in turn gives Real Madrid the money to buy Paul Pogba, and sees Manchester United lose out on their target.
That possible scenario was reported by The Daily Mirror earlier this week. Then, on Thursday evening, came claims that it was also being reported in Spain.

It was understandable to come to such a conclusion, because Mundo Deportivo, on their front page, claimed Manchester City were in for the player.
However, Mundo Deportivo make it very clear in their actual article that their story is entirely based upon the Mirror claims. The same goes for another Spanish newspaper, AS.
Perhaps the only way this happens is if Real Madrid have an almighty panic after Andre Gomes agreed to join Barcelona, and break the bank to try and snatch Paul Pogba from Manchester United’s clutches.
