Inter Milan manager Luciano Saplletti believe that should Ivan Perisic join Manchester United, the Italian club will continue to be as strong.
Manchester United have been tracking the Croatian international all summer, but an agreement has yet to be made between the two clubs.
TMW have reported on comments Spalletti made in his press conference today when quizzed about the future of Perisic.
“But at the same time, he signed a contract which he must respect. Then, if Inter were to accept a certain kind of request, we would get an equally important player. For now things are going right.”
Despite Manchester United’s interest in Perisic it’s been claimed the Premier League side are unwilling to meet Inter Milan’s valuation of the player.
There have even been suggestions this week Anthony Martial could be used as a straight swap for Jose Mourinho to land Perisic.
Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian has also been mentioned as a means of part payment and whilst it seems clear Perisic wants the move to Old Trafford, until the two clubs can agree on price, nothing will move forward.
Perisic is currently on preseason tour with Inter and since he flew out to China, there hasn’t been any concrete indication that a move to Manchester United is any closer.
