The agent of Southampton forward Manalo Gabbiadini has played down reports his client will heading to Fiorentina by telling TMW’s RMC Sport he’s only spoken to the Serie A side about the player’s sister.
Melania Gabbiadini is a star in Italian women’s football, and Silvio Pagliari insists talks with Fiorentina were about her: “He will stay where he is, at Southampton, there are no doubts. He must do well in the Premier League. Fiorentina? Rogg once asked me about his sister with regards to the Fiorentina women’s team.”
In the past week Gabbiadini has been linked with a move to Fiorentina but claims yesterday suggested the Serie A side are now targeting Juventus forward Marko Pjaca.
Pagliari has been insistent throughout this transfer window that Gabbiadini will be remaining at Southampton, and last week he said similar about the future of the attacker and his desire to succeed in English football.
The Italy international struggled in his second season in the Premier League, but it seems he wants to put this right next season with Southampton.
Gabbiadini has also been linked with Lazio and former club Bologna this summer.
