It seems pretty clear that Liverpool haven’t been able to perform at their best this season, and this is something already being acknowledged by the Reds’ upcoming opponents.

As the Dutch media now speaks of Ajax’s Champions League clash against Jurgen Klopp’s side, there’s now a feeling that this game should be more winnable than first expected.

On Ajax Showtime’s podcast, Sam Planting now comes up to say that Liverpool have some fragilities which the Dutch side could take advantage of.

“World-class Liverpool would normally be a contender for the overall victory,” Sam Planting told Ajax Showtime.

“But their humiliating defeat to Napoli made it clear that something is wrong there. Players did not run back. I thought the team looked tired and some older players suddenly looked really old. Ajax will meet Liverpool at a good time in that regard.”

Liverpool and Ajax are playing on Tuesday evening at Anfield.

Ajax won their first game against Rangers, and a good result versus the Reds would certainly mean a dream start for them in their Champions League campaign.

Jurgen Klopp’s side, meanwhile, expect to bounce back from their 4-1 defeat against Napoli in their first picture, especially because in case of a home defeat, then things would start getting more complicated in view of their qualification for the knock-out stage.

Liverpool should be aware that Ajax come from great form in the Eredivisie, as they managed to win all their six games of the season.
